This bitter herb of the Bible was used to purify the temple, during the Passover and the crucifixion of Yehushua/Jesus Used for spiritual and physical cleansing of the Temple.
Considered to ward off evil: Use with the blood for the Pesach/Passover Lamb (the hyssop branch dipped in the lamb’s blood struck the lintel/doorway with which its bruising released the aromatic SHeMeN/oil). Though the HYSSOP may have been a merciful offer to ease congestion and provide some temporary relief, Yehushua refused it. His purpose on the tree execution stake was to take on the sins of the world; thus, he refused the HYSSOP offered as it would have been counter-productive to his purpose. HYSSOP is effective against parasites and was used in the Temple for sacrifices/blood cleansing. Harmful parasites, viruses and bacteria would be considered bad or evil. Cohen/priests would benefit from the protection of such by having this SHeMeN strengthen their immune system.
